About us

Who writes Kano Crypto, how it is paid for, and what we will not do.

Who runs this site

Kano Crypto is a small editorial desk writing about bitcoin trading for readers in Nigeria. We publish calculators, price reference and plain-language guides — and we review the brokers a reader in Nigeria can actually open an account with.

We are not a broker, not a bank and not a licensed adviser. We do not hold client money, we do not place trades, and nothing here is a personal recommendation to buy or sell.

What we do not do

We do not publish invented author credentials, fake awards or stock-photo “experts”. Where a page is written by the desk rather than a named person, it says the desk.

We do not quote a BTC/USD price as a dealable price. The numbers in our tools are worked examples; your broker's own quote is the only one you can trade on.

How the site pays for itself

Some links to brokers are affiliate links: if you open an account through one, the broker may pay us. That is the whole of our revenue, and it is why the next section exists.

A broker paying us does not buy a rating, a ranking position or the removal of a problem. Where a broker is weak for a reader in this country, we say so on the same page that links to it.

FAQ

Common questions

Who actually runs Kano Crypto?

Kano Crypto is an independent editorial desk, not a broker, fund manager or licensed adviser. The site is written and maintained by a small team of writers who follow bitcoin (BTC/USD) markets and publish plain-language explainers for readers in Nigeria. We do not hold client funds, place trades on anyone's behalf, or manage accounts. Nothing here is personalised advice.

How does the site make money if you are not a broker?

The site earns from advertising and affiliate arrangements with brokers, which means we may receive payment when a reader opens an account through a link. That payment does not change what we write or which risks we flag. We do not earn from your trading losses, and we do not receive a share of your deposits or spreads.

Is Kano Crypto regulated by the SEC Nigeria?

No. Kano Crypto is a publisher, not a capital market operator, so it does not sit on the SEC Nigeria register and is not licensed by the SEC, FCA, CySEC or FSCA. If you want to check a broker rather than this site, the regulator sentence is: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators.

Why does the site focus on bitcoin instead of other instruments?

Bitcoin (BTC/USD) is the instrument this desk covers, with 1 standard lot equal to 1 BTC and one pip equal to 1.0. That focus lets us keep the worked examples, margin arithmetic and risk notes consistent rather than spreading thin across many markets. The reference price we use in examples is approximately 77000.0.

Does Kano Crypto place trades or hold my money?

No. Kano Crypto never places orders, never holds client money and never accepts deposits in naira or any currency. Any funding you do, whether by local NGN bank transfer, Visa or Mastercard debit card, e-payments or crypto, happens at the broker you choose, not here. We only publish educational content and calculators.
